1 Corinthians 11:5 - 6 But every woman that prayers or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. 6. For if the woman be not covered let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered
To me this passage is clear. Paul the author never said that this was something during that time period. The chapter goes on to say in verse 13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a women pray into God uncovered. Paul ask you to judge for yourself according to the word of God.
For me, it's a no brainer. I am not trying to look Muslim or Amish or anything else. I am trying to follow the word of God. It's not popular. I am most often alone in my belief. Where I live I have yet to find any like minded believers. That doesn't matter. Well mostly. Some comments hurt my spirit and sometime my flesh longs for the days of having my hair done and make up and the clothing I used to wear but along with that comes all the sin that I have been redeemed.
I have been told that I am being legalistic, that someone is a Pastor or a Deconess (which is another post) doesn't do it and that it was for that time period. Our time period is wearing clothes 2 sizes two small or walking around in pajamas. Thank you very much I'll choose the way of God.
I am not trying to convert you to my views, but I do wish you to understand and respect my choice. I may go home to be with the Lord and He may very well say "My child that wasn't necessary" but He may say "Thank you my child for taking heed to my word"
